About

Emma Sharpe is a writer and editor based in Montreal. She holds a BFA from NSCAD University and an MA in Communication and Culture from Toronto Metropolitan University and York University.

She has been a teaching and research assistant at TMU, a member of the Toronto Art Book Fair Steering Committee, a communications associate at Art Metropole, and a curatorial intern at Concordia University’s FOFA Gallery and SOMA contemporary art centre in Mexico City. She has sat on the editorial committees of Phile Magazine and Peripheral Review, was Canadian Art’s 2019–20 Winter Editorial Resident, and Blackflash Magazine’s staff copy editor.

Most recently, she held full-time positions as Editor of English content at SSENSE and Senior Copy Editor at Aritzia. Her writing has appeared in Editorial Magazine, C Magazine, Blackflash, and Canadian Art, among others.

When not writing, you can find Emma playing lead guitar in her band, making ceramic vases, or knitting vests for her son, Milo.
